Rivers of living waters

Today's meditation John chapter 7:31-40.

1. Many people believed in Christ for his miracles.  (V31)
2. When the Pharisees heard this of the People they sent officers to take Christ. (V32)
3. Jesus told them in a little while they will not find him as he will go to the father who sent him. (V33)
4. Jesus said they will seek for him but will not find and where he goes they cannot go either. (V34)
5. The Jews started murmuring where he will go... why is he saying about going to a place where they cannot find him. If he will go to preach among the gentiles. ( v35, 36)
6. In the last day of the feast, Jesus told them that if anyone is thirsty to come to him for a drink. ( v37)
7. He told them that rivers of living waters will flow from the belly of the one who believes. ( V38)
8. He spoke about the HOLY SPIRIT whom they will receive. The Holy Spirit was not given to them as CHRIST was not glorified yet. (V39

LIFE APPLICATION:
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John:7:38

I am going to take you into the deeper waters as the spirit of God was leading me.

Jesus said in V34, that where he goes nobody will be able to find him and then he talks about the outpouring of the holy spirit. I have dealt with it in my previous post, a meditation on John 4:5-14 about the living waters.

But what does that to do with Jesus going to heaven...  Jesus said he will go and send us his comforter.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John:16:7

Halleluyah! We have a comforter with us who is going to come with us in our journey.  He will be with us and guide us into all truth.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John:16:13

The Spirit Of God is the spirit of Jesus himself. When the spirit of God comes into our hearts it simply means Jesus coming into our hearts. He is another person of the Trinity.
You can read my post on trinity to know more.

Holy Spirit is a Person, though he can be metaphors as water, fire, dove and so on.

Today let me explain You a little of the attributes of the Holy Spirit.

A. He is a great comforter:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John:16:7

B. He is the Spirit of truth:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John:16:13

C. He glorifies Christ as he is the spirit of CHRIST.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John:16:14

D. He fights our battles:

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun? When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah:59:19

E. He is omnipresent.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
Psalm:139:7

F. He is the power behind creation.

Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
Psalm:104:30

What does GOD have in store for us when it comes to the Holy Spirit.?

Let me explain it crisply from Ezekiel 47.  Christ said from the belly of those that believe, rivers of living waters will flow.

A. The ankle experience:

Many of us are happy with the water hitting our ankles. But God calls us deeper.

And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
Ezekiel:47:3

B. The knee and the loin level:

As the spirit of God takes us deep... We get into the knee and loin of water. Don't stop there dear child of God... there is a river that is coming.

Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
Ezekiel:47:4

C. As the spirit of God takes us deeper in there is a vast river in which our feet cannot stand and could not be passed over. Such beautiful is it to be filled in the Holy Spirit to the brim.

Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
Ezekiel:47:5

Along this river we have nourishment; along this river we have life; along this river we have healing.

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
Ezekiel:47:9

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
Ezekiel:47:12

Let me take you further deep,
This river flows right from the throne of God.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
Psalm:46:4

Not only that, when we get into these deeper waters we will win many to CHRIST... as we become fishers of men.

And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
Ezekiel:47:10

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
Luke:5:4

Dear Children of God! Being filled in the spirit is a marvellous experience. It is deep calling the deep, which the physical mind can never comprehend.  This is what David writes about this adorable experience.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Psalm:42:7

Let us ask of God with such great thirst and he will fill us with his Holy Spirit to overflowing.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke:11:13

Our heavenly father will definitely fill us with His Spirit if we can ask of him with an unquenchable thirst. May God reveal more as you thirst for him more. Amen.

GIVE ME A DRINK - Meditation john 4: 7-14

1. A woman came from Samaria to draw water from the well, to whom Jesus asked to give him a drink( v7)
2. The woman asked him how he can ask water from her as he was a Jew and she was from Samaria ( v 9)
3. Jesus answered if she knew who he was and the gift of God then she would have asked him for the living waters. (V10)
4. The woman asked Christ how he can give her water as the well is deep and he had nothing to draw with. ( v11)
5. She asked him if he was greater than Jacob as he gave drink not only to himself but also to the cattle and children. ( v12)
6. Jesus said to her that whoever drinks this water ( physical) shall thirst again. but whoever drinks of the water Christ gives shall never thirst again. (V13)
7. Because the water that CHRIST gives shall be like a well of water springing up to eternal life ( v14)

LIFE APPLICATION:
1. Jesus asked the woman " Give me to drink".
Christ is asking of something he expects to be within the Samaritan woman. What is it?
Many a times our soul is like a parched ground. Have you ever felt something missing in your life, deep down inside...??
Do you feel empty inside when you possess every kind of blessings you can name??
This is how it feels when our soul is dry like a parched ground,
 thirsting for the living waters.
Christ refers to the Holy Spirit as the living waters, drawn from the wells of salvation.  Let us look into the scriptures below,

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Isaiah:44:3

Here the Holy Spirit is referred to water.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Isaiah:12:3

Here salvation refers to the wells deep inside of us.

This is what CHRIST referred to , when he asked for a drink from the Living waters.

Let us see more examples:
Christ wants his bride to not only draw water for him but also for multitudes

Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
Genesis:24:43

And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
Genesis:24:19

Rebecca chosen by the servant as a bride for Isaac is a Revelation of how CHRIST chooses his bride too.
A chosen generation filled with springs of living waters, filled with the Holy Spirit, whose waters flow outside and quinches the thirst of many.

And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isaiah:58:11

Yes, when the Spirit of God fills us and we are led by him continuously we will be like a well watered garden with springs of water which fails

LIFE APPLICATION  2:
1. Same like Nicodemus she could only see the physical side and was asking how Jews can interact with Samaritans. (V9)
2. Jesus talks to her about Salvation as the Gift of God. (V10)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans:6:23

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians:2:8
4. Christ further explains that the water that CHRIST gives, meaning the Spirit of God springs in us as a river that never dries up.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
Psalm:46:4
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Revelation:22:1

God puts this river into us... that we will be beaming with this living waters.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John:7:38

So today is the day! Is your soul like a parched ground? Dry and empty? Ask of christ and out of your belly shall living waters flows that you will never be thirsty again. (V10)

BESIDES THE JACOB'S WELL - MEDITATION John 4:1-6

1. Jesus left Judea and went into Galilee when Jews started telling that he made more disciples than John ( V1-3)
2. He had to go through Samaria (V4)
3. Jesus came to a city called sychar - which had an historical significance,
The ground was given by Jacob to Joseph (v5)
4. There was also Jacob's well and because Jesus was weary with his Journey, he sat ON the well and it was the sixth hour (v6)

LIFE APPLICATION:
1. How do we react to Honour and fame?
The WORD of GOD says, praise is like a furnace that refines Gold. It trieth our inward man. It brings to light the kind of Person who we are.

As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
Proverbs:27:21

How do we react to praise.? How do we react when honour and fame comes our way.
A. Do we change it to praises unto God or do we rob his glory? The WORD of GOD says, he will never give his glory to anyone.

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Isaiah:42:8

We are called to show forth God's praise.

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
Isaiah:43:21

How do we treat people when we are moving forward?
1. Let others lift us up and not ourselves:
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
Proverbs:27:2

2.  Christ moved away when he was lifted more than John the Baptist. How are we? Let us allow the Holy Spirit  search our hearts.....
(V1-3)

Significance of the Well of Jacob:
1. The house of Jacob and his generation was chosen by God to be blessed and to inherit the Kingdom of God.

Similarly we are chosen by God to be blessed.

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I am the LORD your God;
Ezekiel:20:5

2. Jesus walks into the place where Jacob had given a land as inheritance to Joseph.( V5)
Similarly. We have a spiritual inheritance in Christ.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Colossians:1:12

3. Jesus CHRIST sat on the well of Jacob.
Well signifies the fountain of living waters... which we will meditating throughout this chapter.

The WORD of The God says, the thirsty land will have springs of water.

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Isaiah:35:7

4. Jesus Christ is the master of this well: whomever comes to him, shall receive this living waters.

They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
Isaiah:49:10

Like a shepherd Christ leads us to the still waters as from him flows the living waters

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Revelation:22:17

If  you feel, your life is like a dry parched land...Jesus wants to flow these living waters through you.
I pray that God will take us besides the still waters, as we move on this exciting journey of meditating John 4.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm:23:2

Born Again : Meditation John chapter 3:1-8 ; Part 2

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John:3:3

What does it mean to be born again?
The WORD born again is meant as ' born from above.'
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John:1:12
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John:1:13

The WORD of GOD says, if we believe in the name of CHRIST and receive him, God gives us the power to become the SONS of God.
We are not born because of the will of man, or of blood, nor by the will of man but by God himself.

If we are in Christ we are a new creature.  Old things have passed away. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new.

As I am being led in the spirit I would like to explain the whole plan of God's redemption.
After Adam sinned against God, we as humans have fallen short of God's glory as it is written,

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis:6:5

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans:3:23

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans:3:10

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Romans:3:11

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Romans:3:12

We have fallen short of the GLORY of GOD.  If we say that we do not have sin, we are liars.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John:1:10

This explains us our need to be cleansed and forgiven of all our sins as we cannot even see the kingdom of God with our Adamic nature in us. (V3)

To take victory over this nature of Adam was Christ born as a man, to die on the cross for our sins, that through this gospel of CHRIST we can be born again in our  Spirit man.

So how are we to be born again?
We are born again by the word of God being the seed
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter:1:23,
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1 Peter:1:25

What happens when we are born again?
1. Stage 1: the seed of the Gospel enters our heart. 1peter 1:23

2. Stage 2: we receive Christ by believing that he paid the price for our sins on the cross and we are redeemed from our sins by his BLOOD.  John 1:12

3. Stage 3:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians:2:8
This stage is purely God's work. He creates that new birth in our spirit.

How do we know that we are born again?
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans:8:16
The Holy Spirit of God speaks in our hearts and confirms that we are children of God. ( Born again)

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans:15:13

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Romans:5:11
The joy and peace that God gives in our heart is the confirmation that we are born again.

This is something happening deep in the spirit that a natural man with a human mind cannot comprehend unless being experienced individually.
This is why Nicodemus was not able to completely comprehend what Christ was speaking about being born again. (V4)

And this is what Jesus refers to be born of water and of the spirit.
Water being the word of God.
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians:5:26
Spirit being the work of the Holy Spirit in the Human Spirit.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians:1:13

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Ephesians:1:14
In other words we are born and sealed as children of God by the Holy Spirit.

So, what are we to do once we are saved?

1. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1 Peter:2:2
So we are to desire the word of God as new born babes to grow to be mature sons and daughters of God..

2. We have to work out our salvation with fear each day.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians:2:12

3. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans:12:2

We have to be transformed according to working of the holy spirit in us... each day as he renews our mind  according to the word.

You can know more about the redemption of mankind and the prize of salvation in the links attached....

Isn't it a glorious experience to be born again? May God reveal you more . GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

RECIEVING MIRACLES FROM CHRIST - MEDITATION on John 2: 1-11

1. There was a marriage in cana of Galilee and Mary the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited there. (V1,2)
2. When they wanted wine, Mary told them they have no wine ( v3)
3. Jesus answers Woman what do I have to do with thee? Mine hour has not yet come. (V4)
4. Mary instructs the servants to do what Jesus says. (V5)
5. Jesus tells the servants to fill the six waterpots of stone, kept there for purification of Jews with water. They filled it to the brim. (V6,7)
6. Jesus instructed them to draw out and give to the governor of the feast. (V8)
7. When the governor of the feast tasted the wine, he called the bride groom  and said.,
" Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now."
John:2:10
8. This is the first miracle Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and his disciples believed him. (V11)

Life Application:
1. Jesus wants to be a part of our daily affairs in life. For this he expects us to invite him into those areas of our lives that needs his touch.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation:3:20

He wants to sit with us and sup with us discussing our life issues with him. We don't need to carry heavy burdens of impossiblities when we have such a faithful friend for us.

THE POWER OF INTERCESSION:
2. In this incident, I see Mary has a powerful intercessor. It is these intercessors who move the heart of God to do miracles. (V3)

Duties of an intercessor:
1. Taking responsibility for others problems to bring them to God's notice. (V3)
2. Tarrying in God's presence till his heart is moved to respond. (V4)
3. Believing and seeing by Faith that God is a God of impossibilities.
4. Instructing people to believe in Christ and to do what he instructs them to do. (V5)

Shortly, intercessors are great people standing between God and Man, with a strong will never to give up,  but an yielded spirit moving God's heart to do miracles for people sake.

 Life Application 3:
The battle was already complete in the Spiritual realm when Mary interceeded.
The physical victory depends on how well we hear the Voice of God and obey. (V5)

OBEDIENCE of the Servants:
If we are called to be the servants of God, let us make sure, we allow the Holy Spirit to fill our  Earthen vessels with the right kind of water and that too, to the brim.

It is the Holy Spirit who fills us with God's word and draw from us to give to others.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2 Corinthians:4:7
This treasure is that of the gospel of CHRIST.

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians:5:26

Here water means the word of God.

When this water of the word of God is drawn to be born to others, God changes it to be the choicest wine. ( V8-10)

In both these below verses, wine signifies prosperity.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth out of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
Joel:3:18

Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
Deuteronomy:33:28

But, it is also written in these verses about the Fountain that flows from the house of God and about the Fountain of Jacob which both signifies the BLOOD of CHRIST that is shed for a remission of sins. Please check out the verse below.

In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zechariah:13:1

So putting it all together, the Holy Spirit  draws the gospel of CHRIST and bear it to people, from Earthen vessels, the servants of God filled to the brim, with the word.

This water, the GOSPEL OF CHRIST empowered by his BLOOD, when received becomes the choicest blessing in our lives.

I pray that the Spirit of God will open our eyes to get more deeper insight of the living waters, the word of God.
