The Impossible God and the Finite man

 Meditation John 11:11-20

1. Jesus said to them that their friend Lazarus is sleeping and that he is going to wake him out of his sleep. (V11)
2. His disciples said he will be well if he sleeps well.(v12)
3. Jesus was speaking to them about his death but they were thinking that he was talking about his sleep. (V13)
4. Jesus then said to them that Lazarus was dead. (V14)
 5. Jesus said to them that he was glad for their sake that he did not go there that they may believe. (V15)
6. Then Thomas told to the other disciples let us also go with him that we may die with him. (V16)
7. When Jesus came he saw that Lazarus was laid in the grave for four days already. (V17)
8. Bethany was near to Jerusalem.  (V18)
9. Many Jews came to Mary and Martha to comfort them regarding their brother. (V19)
10. Martha, when she heard Jesus coming, ran to meet him while Mary stayed in the house. (V20)

Life application:

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
John:11:11

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
John:11:14

We serve a God of impossibilities.

Dear Child of God,
We serve a great and mighty God, for whom death means sleep.

Let us see below some seemingly impossible situation for man that CHRIST made it possible.

1. Abraham:

God promised a child for Abraham and fulfilled it when he was a hundred years old.

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Hebrews:11:11

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Hebrews:11:12

2. The dead dry bones coming to life:

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
Ezekiel:37:4

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
Ezekiel:37:10

Many times our situations are not only dead but also dry. But when the spirit of God breathes upon us we can become a great army too.

3. Paul raised the dead man.

And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
Acts:20:9

And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
Acts:20:12

4. Jesus raised up the daughter of the ruler who was dead.

While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Matthew:9:18

But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
Matthew:9:25

5. Jesus raised the son of the widow of Nain.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Luke:7:12

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Luke:7:13

And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Luke:7:14

And he that was dead sat up and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Luke:7:15

Dear children of the most high God! Time has come for every death to be raised. When Christ can have compassion on the widow of Nain his bowels will move for our cries too. So let us not give up crying out loud to the worker of all miracles.

Now let us see some dead areas in our lives that needs the touch of God.

1. Forgotten as the dead:

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
Psalm:31:12

We may be forgotten as a dead man and a broken vessel by every of our loved ones. But Christ still loves us and want to build us up.

2. The dead do not praise  God.

Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.
Psalm:88:10

Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?
Psalm:88:11

The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
Psalm:115:17

Are we spiritually dead that we cannot praise God.? Are we dead that we cannot see the wonders of God in our lives and his loving-kindness? Let us pray today that the spirit of God will quicken our spirits that we may become alive to praise.

3. If we are wandering away from the right way we are becoming one among the congregation of the dead.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
Proverbs:21:16

Let us ask the Spirit of God to lead us in the path everlasting.

4.  There is no hope for the dead.

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Ecclesiastes:9:4

If you do not have any hope... you feel you are dead... remember you are still alive in Christ and he can still make you live.

5. Dead men are in desolate places.

We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
Isaiah:59:10

Is your situation dead and desolate.? Christ died for us that we will not live a life of desolation.

6. Spiritual and physical barrenness

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
Romans:4:19

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Romans:4:17

We have a mighty God who quickens the dead and calls things which be not as though they were.

7. We were dead in our trespasses and sins but Christ quickened us up.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Ephesians:2:1

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians:2:5

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Ephesians:5:14

8. We may be dead in our works.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews:9:14

Dear Child of God,
Dead does not mean a physical death... it can be  spiritual too. We can have so many dying situations not having any hope to live. But whatever be it impossible it is possible with God.... let us not give up till the good Lord avenge for us. Amen.

Do you Dare to love like Christ?

 Today's meditation John chapter 11:1-10

1. There was a man named Lazarus In Bethany the town of Mary and Martha and he was sick. (V1)
 2. It was this Mary who anointed the feet of Jesus with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair. Lazarus was her brother. (V2)
3. Mary and Martha sent to  Jesus that Lazarus whom he loves was sick. (V3)
4. Jesus said that his sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God that CHRIST may be glorified in him. (V4)
5. Jesus loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus. (V5)
6. When Christ heard that Lazarus was sick he tarried in the place he was and abided there for another two days. (V6)
7. Then Christ said that they ought to go to judèa again. (V7)
 8. The disciples said to him how he can go there again to the Jews who tried to stone him. (V8)
9. Jesus said there are twelve hours in a day. If a man walks in the day he stumbles not because he sees the light of the world. (V9)
10. But the man stumbles in the night as there is no light in him. (V10)

 Life applications:

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
John:11:4

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
John:11:5

The amazing Love of Christ:

In this meditation, God opened my eyes to see a glimpse of the amazing Love of Christ.

1. The love of Christ comprehends the big picture:

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
John:11:4

The love of Christ was deeper to analyse the issue in the light of God and comprehend what God wanted to do in that particular situation.

Dear Child of God... do we see the hand of God in our difficult situations? Are we able to trust in God in seeing the big picture as Christ did.?

Let us ask for more of the love of Christ in us that we will be able to love him and trust him more in overwhelming situations in ourselves and in others.

2. Love of Christ is tough:

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
John:11:6

The Love of Christ is tough enough not to be shaken by any emotional outbursts.

the love of Christ sees physical things spiritually by-passing all emotions.

Jesus tarried and spent another two days in the place where he stayed, that God's will be accomplished in Lazarus.

Dear Child of God,
Do you feel God does not have compassion on you and is tough as you cry out to him day and night?

Cheer up! This waiting is also a part of the big plan. This is also a characteristic of the great love and wisdom of Christ.

3. The love of Christ submits to the direction of the Holy Spirit in respect to time and space.

Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
John:11:7

Christ gives us a beautiful example of how to surrender to the leading of the holy spirit.

Many times we with emotional decisions and looking at situations around or hearing to people make haste in decisions not heeding to the gentle voice of the holy spirit.

The spirit of God wants our soul to be at peace in all situations that we can listen to the leading of the holy spirit clearly each time.

 4. Love of Christ is daring:

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
John:11:8

Halleluyah! The love of Christ is daring enough to face the cross for us.

He chose to go to Judea again in spite of an outrage opposition in that place.

Dear Child of the most high God!
You have a heavenly father whose hands will reach out to you even if you are in the midst of hell surrounded by a thousand demons.

Do not be disheartened... you have a loving heavenly father who dares to go any extreme for your cause.

5. The love of Christ gives us a sound mind:

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walks in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
John:11:9

Christ is light. If we walk in the light of Christ,  in the direction of the Holy Spirit we will not stumble. The Love of Christ never confuse us.

A. The Lord himself shall be our light and we shall not stumble.

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm:27:1

B. The word of God is a light to our path.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm:119:105

C. Christ himself is that light that will bring us to the sanctuary of God.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Psalm:43:3

D. There is a light inside of us... even our conscience through which God can lead us.

For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
Psalm:18:28
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
Proverbs:20:27

More than anything... if we are walking in the love of Christ we are walking in the light.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John:1:7

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
1 John:2:10

To GOD BE THE GLORY.... amen.

The manifold works of an almighty God.

Meditation John 10:31-42

Life application:

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

John:10:37

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John:10:38

 The works of God:

1. The very heavens above us are the work of the finger of God.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Psalm:107:29

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Psalm:107:31

6. We are the works of God. It is God who created us.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalm:139:14

7. He makes the war cease, breaks the bow and cuts the spear.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

Psalm:46:8

8. The works of God make us glad and his thoughts for us are very deep.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

Psalm:46:8

The word of God says the thoughts God has for us are very deep.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah:29:11

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isaiah:55:8

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:9

People who have seen the mighty works of God served the Lord.

And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.

Joshua:24:31

This is why David says he will not die but live and declare the works of God.

I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

Psalm:9:1

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Psalm:118:17

Make me understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

Psalm:119:27.

We have meditated on the works of God and how we are to exalt his works as David did. Now let us go further and examine the kind of works God expects from us.

 1. Let us do good works that our light shine before men.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew:5:16

2. We ought to commit our works to the Lord that he will establish our thoughts

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Proverbs:16:3

3. Us believing Christ has been sent by God is a work of God.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

John:6:29

4. Faith and works must go together.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James:2:17

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

James:2:20

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

James:2:26

So dear children of God, let us learn to do good works worthy of God's glory. Let us not cease acknowledging the mighty works of God's hands either.... that CHRIST will be glorified in and through us. Amen.

The mighty hand and outstretched arms of God.

Today's meditation John chapter 10:20-30

 1. Some people said that he had a devil and is mad and not to hear him.  (V20)

2. Some said this cannot be the words of the devil as the devil cannot open the eyes of the blind. (V21)

3. The feast of dedication was at hand and Jesus was walking in the Solomon's porch (v22)

4. Then the Jews asked him if he is Christ to tell them plainly and not to make them doubt. (V23)

5. Jesus said to them that even if he tells them they do not believe but the works that he does in his father's name bear witness of him. (V24)

6. Jesus said they do not believe because they are not his sheep. (V25)

7. Jesus said he knows his sheep and his sheep hear his voice and follow him. (V26)

8. He gives them eternal life. They shall not perish and no man can pluck them from the father's hands. (V27)

9. Jesus said that his father is greater than all and no man will be able to pluck them from the hands of the father. (V28)

10. Jesus then said he and his father are one. (V29)

 Life application :

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John:10:29

The father's mighty hand:

Let us meditate today about the mighty hand of the father that we can rest assured that we are safe in his arms.

1. The hands of the mighty God makes our arms strong.

But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

Genesis:49:24

2. The strong hands of God brought the Israelites from the land of the Pharoah.

Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

Exodus:6:1

3. God redeems his people with a strong hand.

Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.

Nehemiah:1:10

4. God will come with a strong hand and with his arm he will rule us.

Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isaiah:40:10

5. God's arms are mighty and his hands are strong.

Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Psalm:89:13

6. God's mighty arm stills the enemies.

Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

Exodus:15:16

7. With his arms he fights our battle.

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

2 Chronicles:32:8

8. God establishes us by his mighty hand.

With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

Psalm:89:21

9. God scatters his enemies with his mighty arm.

Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

Psalm:89:10

10. God gives us victory by his mighty arm.

O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Psalm:98:1

11. God has set us as a seal upon his mighty arm.

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Song of Solomon:8:6

12. He gathers us his flock and carry is in his bosom by his arm.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah:40:11

13. The arm of the Lord is revealed to us through Christ.

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

Isaiah:53:1

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Isaiah:53:2

14. The arm of the Lord brings salvation.

And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

Isaiah:59:16

This is how mighty the arm of God is... now let us rest secured that nothing and no one can pluck us from this mighty hand of his.

God will fight our battles. He will win victories for us. The wolf and the RAVENOUS beasts can never snatch us from the very bosom of his.

When we cry out to him he will send his arrows and scatter them.

Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

Psalm:18:14

Such a great and mighty God we have. So let us rest assured that nothing can separate us from his love because we are more than conquerors through Christ who strengthens us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans:8:35

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Romans:8:37

Are you safe?

 Meditation John 10: 11-19

1. Jesus said he is the good shepherd and he gives his life for the sheep. (V11)

2. But the hireling, who is not the shepherd and the sheep are not his own, sees the wolf coming and flees from the sheep. The wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.  (V12)

3. The hireling flees from the sheep because he is an hireling and does not care for his sheep. (V13)

4. Jesus said he is the good shepherd and he knows his sheep and the sheep knows him. (V14)

5. The father knows Christ and Christ knows the father and he lays down his life for the sheep. (V15)

6. Jesus said there are some other sheep outside that fold which are his. They shall hear his voice and them also he should bring in that there will be one fold and one shepherd. (V16)

7. Jesus said his father loves him because he lay down his own life that he might take it back again. (V17)

8. Jesus said no man takes his life from him, but he lay it down himself. For he has the
power to lay it down and to take it again. This commandment Christ has received from the father. (V18)

9. The Jews got divided because of these sayings. (V19)

 LIFE APPLICATION:

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John:10:11

But he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
John:10:12

In this passage, we see three personalities in the scene. Let us go through their nature one by one.

1. The RAVENOUS beast:

We have a devourer who comes to steal, kill and destroy and that is the devil. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy every blessing that God has for us.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John:10:10

B. We have an adversary, the devil who go about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter:5:8

C. The lion roars against the multitudes of the voices of the shepherds and is not afraid of them.

For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
Isaiah:31:4

Dear Child of God,
This is how the enemy comes looking out for our souls. Are we safe from his hands? Let go further down and know more.

2. THE HIRELING:

The hireling is a shepherd who does not take responsibility for the sheep, as he was hired to work and the sheep are not his own.

A. They do not feed the flock but they feed themselves:

Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.
Ezekiel:34:3

B. With cruelty, they rule over the sheep.

The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.
Ezekiel:34:4

C. They scatter the sheep but not gather them, that they become meat to the beasts of the field.

And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
Ezekiel:34:5

Dear children of God!
It is our responsibility to identify the hirelings from the true shepherds.

Hirelings rule over God's flock. They never work on keeping the flock of God together neither take responsibility for their souls. Hirelings save themselves at the cost of the flock.

Let us pray that as the flocks of the most high God, God will give us Christ-like shepherds to guide us and lead us in the ways of God.

3. Christ our good shepherd:

A. As a good shepherd, God searches for us and seeks us.

For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
Ezekiel:34:11

He will deliver us out of all the places wherever we may be scattered, though it may be dark and cloudy.

As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Ezekiel:34:12

B. He will gather us to be his holy people.

And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
Ezekiel:34:13

C. He will feed us with good pastures.

I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
Ezekiel:34:14

D. He makes us to lie down and gives us rest.

I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel:34:15

E. He seeks the lost, binds our brokenness and heals our sickness.

I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.
Ezekiel:34:16

F. He carries us in his bosom and gently lead us.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Isaiah:40:11

G. He will have compassion over us.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew:9:36

H. He is the bishop of our souls.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Peter:2:25

I. More than anything the good shepherd lays his life to save from the enemy, that by his blood we can live.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John:10:11

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Hebrews:13:20

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews:13:21

The wolf scatters the sheep from the flock and isolates them. Today, you may be a victim of the darts of the enemy.

He uses weapons like unforgiveness, shame, guilt, ego, self-centeredness, bitterness, misunderstandings,  to scatter us from the very flock of God. He isolates us and once he succeeds we become a meat to him.

We may be like the sheep gone astray. We may be trusting on to hirelings, be it money, friends, job and so on... for a false sense of comfort.

But today is the day, let us come back to our shepherd who will bind our wounds and make us whole. When he gave his himself to die on the cross he will make sure he will perfect everything that concerns us too.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah:53:6

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Romans:8:32

To GOD BE THE GLORY.... amen.

 LIFE APPLICATION:

This passage portrays a beautiful parable of how CHRIST is for us.  Him being our shepherd and we his sheep.
Some of the characters of the good shepherd are listed here.

1. The shepherd enters through the door:

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John:10:2

Jesus Christ is our shepherd and the owner of our souls who cares for us each day.

He comes lovingly to the sheepfold and knocks at our heart's door each day.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation:3:20

2. If we are the own sheep of our great shepherd we can hear his voice.

Dear Child of God,
How beautiful it is to hear and respond to the voice of our great shepherd?
It might not be a loud shout, but Sure, it is so gentle, mild and soothing and assuring.
Our soul and the very spirit of ours move as we hear our own shepherd's voice.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
John:10:3

Oh! How secure we feel as the shepherd calls each of us by our own names and he leads us out...

Now let me give you an illustration... most of us can hear the voice of our shepherd.  But we become too lazy, busy or hardened to rise up to open  the door.

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
Song of Solomon:5:2

How many times we reply to him that we have wound up already and we cannot rise up again to meet Him?

I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
Song of Solomon:5:3

This is when our good shepherd still puts his fingers through the door and our bowels are moved for him.

My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
Song of Solomon:5:4

Dear Child of the most high God,

Is your bowels moved as you hear the shepherd's voice calling you today... ? Let us tell him... Lord! Here I am.... and he will lead us through beautifully.

3. The shepherd goes before the sheep and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
John:10:4

So where does the shepherd leads us if we follow him hearing his voice?

A. The shepherd leads us into a land of plenty....where all of physical, emotional and spiritual WANTS are met, remember, not NEEDS but all our WANTS are met.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm:23:1

B. He feeds our body, soul and spirit to the full, so we never go hungry and drained.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
Psalm:23:2

And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
John:6:10

When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
John:6:12

C. He calms our souls, by leading us beside the still  waters of the word of God and the Holy Spirit.

he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm:23:2

D. He heals our every emotional hurts, our broken hearts and he restores our soul.

He restoreth my soul.
Psalm:23:3

E. He leads us in the righteous path and teaches us the way we got to go.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Psalm:23:3

F. He comforts us with his rod and his staff that we do not need to fear, even if life takes a bad road.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm:23:4

G. He doesn't end there. He gives us victory amidst our enemies and anoint our heads with an oil of gladness and joy.... till our cups overflow.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psalm:23:5

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Psalm:45:7

H. Still more is in store... He makes sure that goodness and mercy shall follows all the days we are alive and as we trust in God's mercy,
we will keep flourishing like green Olive trees in the house of God.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm:23:6

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Psalm:52:8

 4. Jesus is our shepherd and he is also our door. Only if we can accept him as our saviour and our Lord... we will reap all the above benefits of being his own sheep and hearing his voice and following him.

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
John:10:7

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John:10:9

Dear Child of God,
If you have not heard the shepherd speak to your innermost... today is the day to ask God for a hearing heart.

This is life and life in abundance as Christ restores in us everything stolen, killed and destroyed by the enemy back in double measure.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John:10:10
