Rivers of living waters

Today's meditation John chapter 7:31-40.

1. Many people believed in Christ for his miracles.  (V31)
2. When the Pharisees heard this of the People they sent officers to take Christ. (V32)
3. Jesus told them in a little while they will not find him as he will go to the father who sent him. (V33)
4. Jesus said they will seek for him but will not find and where he goes they cannot go either. (V34)
5. The Jews started murmuring where he will go... why is he saying about going to a place where they cannot find him. If he will go to preach among the gentiles. ( v35, 36)
6. In the last day of the feast, Jesus told them that if anyone is thirsty to come to him for a drink. ( v37)
7. He told them that rivers of living waters will flow from the belly of the one who believes. ( V38)
8. He spoke about the HOLY SPIRIT whom they will receive. The Holy Spirit was not given to them as CHRIST was not glorified yet. (V39

LIFE APPLICATION:
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John:7:38

I am going to take you into the deeper waters as the spirit of God was leading me.

Jesus said in V34, that where he goes nobody will be able to find him and then he talks about the outpouring of the holy spirit. I have dealt with it in my previous post, a meditation on John 4:5-14 about the living waters.

But what does that to do with Jesus going to heaven...  Jesus said he will go and send us his comforter.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John:16:7

Halleluyah! We have a comforter with us who is going to come with us in our journey.  He will be with us and guide us into all truth.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John:16:13

The Spirit Of God is the spirit of Jesus himself. When the spirit of God comes into our hearts it simply means Jesus coming into our hearts. He is another person of the Trinity.
You can read my post on trinity to know more.

Holy Spirit is a Person, though he can be metaphors as water, fire, dove and so on.

Today let me explain You a little of the attributes of the Holy Spirit.

A. He is a great comforter:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John:16:7

B. He is the Spirit of truth:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John:16:13

C. He glorifies Christ as he is the spirit of CHRIST.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John:16:14

D. He fights our battles:

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun? When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Isaiah:59:19

E. He is omnipresent.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
Psalm:139:7

F. He is the power behind creation.

Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
Psalm:104:30

What does GOD have in store for us when it comes to the Holy Spirit.?

Let me explain it crisply from Ezekiel 47.  Christ said from the belly of those that believe, rivers of living waters will flow.

A. The ankle experience:

Many of us are happy with the water hitting our ankles. But God calls us deeper.

And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.
Ezekiel:47:3

B. The knee and the loin level:

As the spirit of God takes us deep... We get into the knee and loin of water. Don't stop there dear child of God... there is a river that is coming.

Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
Ezekiel:47:4

C. As the spirit of God takes us deeper in there is a vast river in which our feet cannot stand and could not be passed over. Such beautiful is it to be filled in the Holy Spirit to the brim.

Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
Ezekiel:47:5

Along this river we have nourishment; along this river we have life; along this river we have healing.

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
Ezekiel:47:9

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
Ezekiel:47:12

Let me take you further deep,
This river flows right from the throne of God.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
Psalm:46:4

Not only that, when we get into these deeper waters we will win many to CHRIST... as we become fishers of men.

And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
Ezekiel:47:10

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
Luke:5:4

Dear Children of God! Being filled in the spirit is a marvellous experience. It is deep calling the deep, which the physical mind can never comprehend.  This is what David writes about this adorable experience.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Psalm:42:7

Let us ask of God with such great thirst and he will fill us with his Holy Spirit to overflowing.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke:11:13

Our heavenly father will definitely fill us with His Spirit if we can ask of him with an unquenchable thirst. May God reveal more as you thirst for him more. Amen.

Facing accusations with triumph

Meditation John chapter 7:11-20

1. The Jews were searching for Christ in the feast. (V11)
2. Some people said he is a Goodman but some said Christ was deceiving people. (V12)
3. But nobody spoke openly fearing the Jews. (V13)
4. In the middle of the feast, Jesus taught in the temple. (v14)
5. The Jews marvelled how he knew all letters without learning. (V15)
6. Jesus told them that the doctrine he is preaching is not his but of the one who sent him. (V16)
7. Jesus said if any man does the will of God then he will understand whether the doctrine is of God or of man. (V17)
8. If one speaks about himself he is seeking his own glory, but if he seeks the glory of the one who sent him, he is true and there is no unrighteousness in him. (V18).
9. Jesus asked why they do not keep the law and go about trying to kill him, though Moses gave the law. (V19)
10. The people asked why they would want to kill him and that he has a devil. (V20)

 LIFE  APPLICATION:
Doing the will of God:
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
John:7:16
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
John:7:17

Many a times we too question the doctrine of CHRIST whether it is truly from God.

Maybe because it is so different from our ways?
Maybe because it is very different from the norm?
Maybe because it is too supernatural that natural minds cannot comprehend?

Whatever be it, the word of God says we will never be able to accept this doctrine of CHRIST unless we submit ourselves to do God's will.  You can read more about the will of God in my previous post.

The WORD of GOD says,

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Psalm:34:8

Meaning take the chocolate, unwrap it, put in your mouth and then only we can taste... and see it.
Same way, give your life to God, hear his words and become a doer of his words and then only we can know who God is.

For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
James:1:23

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
James:1:24

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
James:1:25

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Luke:6:47

He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Luke:6:48

But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Luke:6:49

Jesus wants us not only to hear from him but also do according to the will of God. Dear Child of God,
If we are his sheep we will hear the shepherd's voice and we will follow him.  I pray that the spirit of God will enlighten us to hear God's voice and obey.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John:10:27

 LIFE APPLICATION 2:

What to do when we are falsely accused

?
In this chapter, Jesus was accused of being a devil. What more can a person get?

I am going to explain how we are to face accusations in the light of the scriptures.

Sanctify the Lord in your hearts having a good conscience:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1 Peter:3:15

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
1 Peter:3:16

Please go through the previous post on dealing with offensehttps://christlovelovelin.blogspot.com/2019/01/dealing-with-offense-meditation-john.html?m=1 for further meditation on handling accusations.
God be with you. May the good Lord keep your whole body, spirit and soul blameless till his coming. Amen.

 1. Rest assured! Being accused of being bad is normal.

2. Understand there is a demon behind and come quickly under the wings of God.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Revelation:12:10

3. When our master himself was accused and endured; we will also endure and come out of it. We are on the victory side.

For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews:4:15

4. Accusing is the roar of the devil.... we have the Lion of Judah with us. Today I pray that every mouth of such lions be shut in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

To god be the glory . Amen.

Overthrow SELF PITY

MEDITATION John chapter 5: 1-9

1. In Jerusalem there was a pool named Bethesda having five porches where many impotent people, lame and blind were laying. (V1-3)
2. They were waiting for the water to be stirred as some times an angel comes down and troubled the water and whoever stepped in first were healed of all their diseases.  (V4)
3. There was a man lying there with an infirmity for 38 years. ( v5)
4. Jesus saw him lying and asked him if he wants to be made whole (V6)
5. The impotent man said that there was no man to put him in the pool when the water is stirred and someone else enters first. (V7)
6. Jesus told him to rise, take up his bed and walk.  ( V8)
7. Immediately the man was made whole and he took up his bed and walked.  (V9)

LIFE APPLICATION:

Today I would like to bring to light the stronghold of self-pity, which the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to, through this meditation:

1. I would like to analyse the condition of this person. If you can identify yourself with this person, then this meditation is for you.
A. 38 years of infirmity.

A long term illness undefined, that he can do nothing by himself and under the mercy of others.
Many times we are unable to pick ourself up. We are lying in our weaknesses (V5)

B. He had repeated failures;

He has seen before his eyes the waters being stirred and someone being healed but not himself. (V7) We see a lot of people around us coming out of problems easily, but not us.

C. He was discouraged because of repeated failures:

He puts it as, when the water is stirred, someone else enters first and he misses every time. (V7)

D. He was very angry:

He was angry with people that nobody helped him out in his distress. (V7)

E. He was sad:

He was sad again, as he has no way out. (V7)

Who has more reason to feel pity for himself, more than this man??

Also the self-pity can follow a  series of emotional manifestations like,
Discouragement, disappointment, sadness, depressive thoughts, hopelessness and why not even thoughts of suicide.

So how are we to deal with it? Scroll down to know more...

 1. Waiting for Miracle:

Long term waiting is not a pleasant situation to face. The WORD of GOD says,

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Proverbs:13:12

Yes, whenever our hopes are deferred our heart is sick. But when what we desired comes it is like a tree of life.

Dear brothers and sisters, is your heart sick of waiting? God has a better way of dealing it. The WORD of GOD says,

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah:40:31

If waiting for a miracle is making your heart and life sick, wait on the Lord, for strength.
He will give you the strength to run till you receive your miracle.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Psalm:84:5

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
Psalm:84:6

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Psalm:84:7

You want to move from strength to strength? You feel your strength failing? You cannot go 1 step further, wait on the Lord and he will be your strength.

2. Dealing with repeated closed doors:

This is another source of frustration. We desire for things to happen and if it doesn't our heart is becoming sick. We don't stop there, we blame God for that too. This is human nature.

What to do when confronted with closed doors everywhere?

1. Be still:

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more forever.
Exodus:14:13

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm:46:10

Let us be still and know that he is our God.

2. BRING our desires before God:

He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
Psalm:145:19

Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
Psalm:21:2

3. Acknowledge GOD and allow God to direct your paths:
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs:3:6

C. Dealing with discouragement:

Discouragement hits everyone. Even the great prophets like  Elijah and Jonah were discouraged that they wanted to die.

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
1 Kings:19:4

Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
Jonah:4:3

But praise God for the blood of CHRIST we can boldly go before the throne of grace.

Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews:4:16

Dear brother, Dear sister do not be disheartened... through CHRIST we have Grace upon Grace. We do not need to stay discouraged forever.

We can boldly approach the throne of Grace when in distress.

3. Dealing with anger and sadness:

Getting angry or becoming sad, especially with other people when our things don't work our way is not going to help us any further.

This is where we renew our minds to rise up. Christ has promised us a garment of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Isaiah:61:3

Put on the garment of praise, that is the treatment for a heavy Spirit. It is a willful act. We might sometimes have to force ourselves to give thanks to God. But do it...
This is how we declare to the enemy that we are no more on the bed and along with the people who are going to be there in infirmity forever...

This is what CHRIST means, RISE UP, TAKE YOUR BED and WALK. My good friends, the word of life is spoken in your life. Rise up... stir your spirits and renew your strength like an Eagle...

All the more.... Rejoice! We have a miracle-working GOD
