Dealing with offense

 Meditation John chapter 6:58-71

1. Jesus taught about eating his flesh in the synagogue. (V59)
2. Many of the disciples said that it is a very hard saying and who could hear it. (V60)
3. Jesus asked them if this teaching can offend them then how will they react when they see him ascending up to heaven. ( V61, 62)
4. Jesus said the spirit quickens us and the flesh profits nothing. The WORD of GOD is spirit and is life. (V63)
5. Jesus knew before time who don't believe in him and the one that will betray him. (V64)
6. That is when Jesus told them that no one can come to him unless given to him by his father. ( V65)
7. Many of disciples got offended and they walked no more with him. (V66)
8. Jesus then asked the twelve disciples if they will also go away, for which Peter said, where they can go as CHRIST has words of eternal life. (V67,68)
9. He also said that they believe that he is Christ the son of God. (V69)
10. Jesus then said though being chosen to be among the twelve Christ said there is one that will betray him and he is a devil. (V70)
11. Jesus talked about Judas Iscariot who will be betraying Christ though being one among the twelve. (V71)

LIFE APPLICATION:
Are you offended? Are you hurt deep within? Are your emotions broken because of things happening around you, to you and in you? Then today's meditation is for you. Today let us see how to handle internal hurts God's way.

1. Why do we get offended?

A. People can offend us intentionally or unintended.
Jesus said offences will come. We can in no way avoid being offended. But woe unto the one by whom the offence come.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Matthew:18:7

B. When we are offended in our hearts ...we end up with broken hearts as David says,

Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
Psalm:69:20

We get hurt because of reproach.
Our heart becomes heavy. We try to find comfort in someone or something, but we do not find any.

C. We can offend ourselves.
Sorrow of heart can make our spirit broken.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Proverbs:15:13

D. We can even be offended with God... if we do not have the right perception about him.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mark:6:3

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
Mark:14:27

E. We can be offended to that extent to leave God when persecutions come and our faith is tested for the word sake.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Mark:4:17

F. We get offended because of our own lusts... when we are unable to feed them.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
James:4:1

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
James:4:2

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
James:4:3

2. How do we know we are offended?

Do not deny you are hurt. Initially hurt  portrays as anger and bitterness; but it leaves us with a deep sorrow and brokenness within.

A. We feel our spirit is broken.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Proverbs:15:13

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Psalm:51:17

B. We feel sorrow and bitterness in our soul.

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
1 Samuel:1:10

The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
Proverbs:14:10

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
Isaiah:38:17

C. Sorrow dries up our bones. We feel we are all dried up and nothing left to be happy in us.

Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
Job:17:7

3. How do we handle hurts and offenses?
Here are a few ways in the light of the scriptures how to handle emotional hurts.

A. Identify and acknowledge your deeper hurts and transgressions before God.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Psalm:51:3

B. Choose to forgive and let go everyone who caused you the hurt... even if you are hurt by yourself or offended with God.

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
Genesis:50:17

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John:1:9

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Mark:11:25

C. Allow God to work and heal your broken heart.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Psalm:51:8

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psalm:51:12

Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
Psalm:6:2

I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
Psalm:41:4

The WORD of GOD says it is God who healeth your heart.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Psalm:147:3

So run to him for healing and comfort. This is why the comforter has come. To heal us and to fill us with joy.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
John:16:20

Jesus speaks about the comforter, the Holy Spirit that we will not be offended by him.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
John:16:1

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John:16:7

So we have PEACE and comfort in Christ through the spirit of God.

D. Work on having a correct perception about God.
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Mark:4:17

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mark:6:3

Jesus said blessed is he who is not offended by him.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Matthew:11:6

3. How can we avoid being offended or atleast stay not being offended?

A. Love the word of God:

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
Psalm:119:165

B. Be rooted in Christ that nothing can shake us.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Mark:4:17

So be rooted and grounded in the love of CHRIST.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Ephesians:3:17

C. Ask God to reveal you more of him.

What was revealed to Peter was not revealed to the people who were offended by Christ. (V66)

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
John:6:68

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew:16:17

Dear Child of God,
You may be hurting and broken within. But rise up.... you have a heavenly  father who heals broken hearts and sets captives free. Come to the healing streams.... and be healed. GOD BLESS YOU!

Partakers of flesh and blood.

 Meditation John 6:48-58

1. JESUS said he is the bread of life. (V48)
2. JESUS told them that their fathers ate the manna in the wilderness but still died. (v49)
3. But he said that he is the bread coming from heaven and if one eats of him they shall not die but live forever. (V50)
4. He goes a little further to explain that the bread is his flesh which he gives for the life of the world. ( V51)
5. The Jews starting asking how he can give his flesh for them to eat. (V52)
6. JESUS said except if one does not eat his flesh and drink his blood there is no life in him. (V53)
7. JESUS said whosoever eats of his flesh and drink of his blood has eternal life. ( V54)
8. JESUS said if one eats of his flesh and drink of his blood shall dwell in him. For his flesh is a meat and his blood is a drink indeed. (V55, 56)
9. As Christ lives by his father who sent him, so will the person live by eating the flesh of Christ. (V57)
10. Jesus said he is the bread that came from heaven. Fathers ate the manna but died. He is that bread of life and those that eat of him shall have eternal life. (V58)

 LIFE APPLICATION:
1. The WORD of GOD says, as CHRIST lives by his father.. so whoever eats the son shall live. (V57)

1. What does it mean eating the flesh of CHRIST?
Christ is God himself.

So eating the flesh of Christ means eating God himself.

What we eat becomes a part of our body. We are becoming a part of the body of CHRIST.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Ephesians:5:30

So if God is eternal we become eternal too. (V58)

2. How can we eat the flesh of Christ?

A. Eating the word of God is eating Christ himself.  I would like you to look into the previous meditation on the bread of life.

B. Participating in the Holy communion (v55,56)

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1 Corinthians:11:23

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1 Corinthians:11:24

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1 Corinthians:11:25

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
1 Corinthians:11:26

We are eating the flesh of Christ when we participate In the Holy communion and drinking his blood.

If we examine ourselves and take part in it we shall have eternal life.

But we take part in it unworthily it can let us be sick and weak.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians:11:27

Also, we are partakers of one flesh and one blood.

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians:10:16

For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1 Corinthians:10:17

3. How can this affect our lives?

A. We are healed by the stripes of Jesus.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter:2:24

He bore our sins on the tree. So we are free. By his stripes we are healed.

Again, believe and confess as you participate in this divine covenant. You will be set free from all diseases and ailments physically and every hurts emotionally.

B. We are free from the fear of death:

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews:2:14

And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews:2:15

Because we are partakers of the flesh and blood of CHRIST, we have eternal life in him.

C. We are passing from death to life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John:5:24
Dear Child of God,

we have eternal life in Christ JESUS, we will not die... But live a life in abundance.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John:10:10

Eat of these words dear child of God and the grips of the  thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy will be broken and you will have life and life and life.....

This year is the year your bondages are going to be broken. Whom the son sets free, they are free indeed.

Join with me as
I pray that
Every grip and every stronghold, the enemy has in your physical body is broken today... as the body of CHRIST was broken physically for you and by his stripes you are healed.

Today, I pray that there will be healing in your emotions. Let there be a mighty move of the spirit of God over your souls that every emotional hurts be healed in Jesus mighty name.
Let there not be even the remnants of painful memories of the past left.

Today is the day...as we pray every financial and materialistic blessings that has been stolen by the enemy be released in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth as CHRIST came to give you life and life in abundance.

Receive these blessings in Jesus name... Let it be an Amen.

Wish you all a
Happy and prosperous 2019. May you prosper in every area of your life as your soul prospers.  May the good Lord be with you, leading and guiding you through this year... may God bless you. Amen.

You are predestined

 Meditation John 6:41-47

1. The Jews started murmuring of what CHRIST said that he is that bread that came down from heaven. (V41)
2. They told that they knew his parents as Mary and Joseph and then how he is telling he is coming down from heaven. ( V42)
3. JESUS told them not to murmur among themselves. (V43)
4. JESUS said to them nobody can come to the him unless the father draws them to him. He will raise them up on the last day. ( V44)
5. It is written that they will be taught of God. Every man that has heard and  learnt from the father comes to Christ. ( V45)
6. No man has seen the father except Christ.  (V46)
7. Surely, if we believe in Christ we will have everlasting life. (V47)

LIFE APPLICATION:
Nobody can come to the father except through CHRIST and unless the Father God draws a person to hear and learn from him, he can never accept Christ. (V45)

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans:8:29

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans:8:30

So it is God who had foreknown us. He predestined us to be his sons and daughters, heirs and co-heirs to Christ Jesus.

He called us and when we respond to his call, he  not only justifies us but also glorifies us.

You are chosen:
The WORD of GOD says we are chosen to be of God even before the world began.

Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
Isaiah:41:9

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isaiah:43:10

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
2 Thessalonians:2:13

Dear Child of God,
Today I would like to comfort you with these words.
A. It is not we who chose God, but it is he who chose us.

B. We are a chosen generation and a royal priesthood.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
1 Peter:2:9

C. We are God's choice for his son Jesus CHRIST, to be heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans:8:17

D. We are justified by the Grace of God.

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Titus:3:7

E. In short, Read, Read and let us re-read this,  till faith increases in us, as faith comes by hearing the word of God.

1. I am chosen of God. (2 thess 2:13)

2. I am predestined to be glorified ( Romans 8:30)

3. God chose me to be his servant even from the ends of the earth. ( Isaiah 43:10)

4. My generation is chosen and we are peculiar people and a royal priesthood.  ( 1 Peter 2:9)

5. We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. ( Romans 8:17)

6. We are justified and made righteous by Grace. ( Titus 3:7)

7. We are seated in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus. ( Ephesians 2:6)

(And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians:2:6

8. Through Christ Jesus we have all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Ephesians:1:3

9. Because we believe in  Christ we have a life eternal.

( John 6:47)

Let us continue to ponder on these words... I am sure these scriptures can bring a radical breakthrough in our lives. Amen.

Bread from heaven

MEDITATION John chapter 6:30-40

1. The people asked Jesus for a sign that they may see and believe in him. (V30)
2. They said their fathers ate  manna in the desert as it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat. (V31)
3. JESUS told them that Moses did not give them the bread from heaven but that his father will give them the true bread from heaven. (V32)
4. JESUS said to them that his father gives them the true bread that comes from heaven. ( v33)
5. JESUS said that the bread of God is that comes down from heaven and gives life. ( V33)
6. Then they asked him to give that bread to them. (V34)
7. JESUS said he is that bread of life and whosoever come to him shall not hunger and those that believe in him shall not thirst. (V35)
8. But Jesus said that they saw him but still did not believe. (V36)
9. JESUS said whosoever  father God gives him shall come to him and he will never cast them out. (V37)
10. JESUS came down not to do his own will but to do the will of the father. ( v38)
11. JESUS said the will of the father on him is that he should not lose anyone, but should raise them in the last day. (V39)
12. This is the will of God that everyone sees Christ  and believe in him shall have everlasting life and Christ will raise him on the last day. (V40)

Life application:
The bread of heaven:
Jesus said the father gives them the true bread from heaven. (V32,33)
Here in our meditation let us see some facts about this bread from heaven.

1. The bread of God comes from heaven and it gives life to the world.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
John:6:33

2. JESUS said he is the bread of life.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John:6:35

I am that bread of life.
John:6:48

3. Any man which eat
This bread shall not die.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
John:6:50

4. This bread is the flesh of Christ.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John:6:51

5. The WORD became flesh:

Now I would like to spark in you a revelation; compare these two verses

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John:1:14

: and the bread that I will give is my flesh,

It is the spoken word of God that became Christ in flesh.
So, eating this word of God, is eating Christ himself.

Hallelujah! Let us thank God for this heavenly manna that CHRIST is giving us each day that we shall not die but live life everlasting.

This is why, Christ told,

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matthew:4:4

We live not only because of the physical bread, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

This is what CHRIST says,

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
John:5:39

LIFE APPLICATION 2:
Jesus came down not to do his own will, but to do the will of the father.

A similar verse with a Strong correlation is,
Jesus saith unto them,

My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
John:4:34

Jesus compares finishing the will of the father to a heavenly meat.

Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Matthew:18:14

It is not the will of the father that one of us, should perish. This is why, Christ came in flesh.

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John:6:39

So dear children of God, Are you not secure about your walk with God?  It is not the will of God for us to perish; neither the will of God for Christ to lose us.
We have a faithful God who will keep us blameless till the end.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians:5:23

So we have PEACE with God! God bless you all!

What do you seekest ye.

Meditation John 6:22-29

1. In the morning the people were surprised that the ship in which the disciples went was missing and Jesus was not there too. (V22,23)
2. Then they too took the ship and went to Capernaum seeking for Jesus. ( V24)
3. When they saw him on the other side, they asked him when he came the other side. ( V25)
4. Jesus said to them that they sought him not for the miracles which they saw but for the food they ate and were filled. (V26)
5. Christ then said that we should not labour for the food that perishes but for the food that will endure unto everlasting life that CHRIST himself gives to those who are sealed by God. (V27)
6. Then they asked him what they should do that they might work the works of God. (V28)
7. For this, Christ told them to believe him, that has been sent by the father and that is the work of God. (V29)

When I was meditating on this portion, the question came up to me that if we can all ponder, it will change our thinking of what we seek from God.

Seeking God:
The question that comes to us today is,
1.  "what do we seek from God?"
2. What do you think is the difference in the way the disciples sought Christ and that of the People?
3. What made the disciples so special that Jesus walked on the sea to be with them?

LIFE APPLICATION 1:
What do we seek from God? (V26)

1. Seeking the Kingdom of God:
Many times we seek for what the world can offer and for things that are concerned with our present needs. But the word of God says,

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Luke:12:29

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Luke:12:30

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke:12:31

Let me give you a small reference on the kingdom of God.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Romans:14:17

This is what Christ meant by labouring for the kingdom of God.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John:6:27

2. Seeking God's glory and His will and not ours:
God expects us to seek his glory and HIS will than ours.

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John:5:30

And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
John:8:50

3. Seeking signs :
God does not want us to seek signs, but to believe in the gospel.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1 Corinthians:1:22

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1 Corinthians:1:23

4. We should seek to be justified by Christ and not to please any man:

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
Galatians:1:10

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is, therefore, Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Galatians:2:17

 5. Seeking the resurrected Christ:

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
Matthew:28:5

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew:28:6

The WORD of GOD says,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew:7:7

This is what CHRIST tells us, what we seek we shall find. So let us seek things of the above.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians:3:1

LIFE APPLICATION 2:

What is the difference between the people and the disciples in seeking God.?

The disciples mind was seeking how and where to dwell with God and abide with him.

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
John:1:38

But the people were seeking how to receive earthly things and to be filled.

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
John:6:26

Are we seeking God to know who he is, or what he can give us? Let us analyse ourselves.

 LIFE APPLICATION 3:
What made Christ go searching for the disciples when they were in trouble?

For this, I would want to explain the life of Mary.

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
John:11:32

When Jesus, therefore, saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.
John:11:33

Jesus was troubled in his Spirit when Mary cried.

Here Jesus explains the reason,

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Luke:10:42

Mary chose a good part, seated at the feet of God, seeking for his kingdom. So when she was troubled Christ could not bear it.

Same is with the disciples. They sought the kingdom of God and his righteousness and God came searching for them in their trouble.

Let us allow the spirit of God to search our hearts. Amen.

See the SEA WALKER

 John 6:16-21

1. The disciples in the evening went down unto the sea and got into the ship.(v16, 17)
2. They went to the way of Capernaum.  (V17)
3. It was getting dark by then, and Jesus was not there with them. ( v17)
4. There blew a great wind and the sea arose. ( v18)
5. As they were rowing a little distance, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming close to the ship and were afraid. ( v19)
6. Jesus said that it is he And told them not to be afraid. (V20)
7. They gladly received him in the boat and immediately they reached the place where they wanted to reach. (V21)

 APPLICATION 1:
Dealing with tough times:
Many a times trouble times come over us like a shadow.. without us realising,  till it becomes too late.

In this meditation, we see three worse situations.
1. The disciples getting caught in the storm  (v18)
2.  it was becoming dark. (v17)
3. Jesus was not there in the ship. (V17)

David portrays of the emotional state of the disciples in psalms 107;

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
Psalm:107:23
These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
Psalm:107:24
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
Psalm:107:25
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
Psalm:107:26
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
Psalm:107:27
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
Psalm:107:28
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psalm:107:29
Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Psalm:107:30

Most of the time, in our troubles we are like drunken people, staggering around. We are at our wit's end. Our souls meltdown in trouble. But still we try to row our boats more further against the storms.

It is then we cry out to God for help. He hears our cry from the heavens. He humbles himself, to come to us and calm the storms.

Hallelujah! We have an awesome God who listens to our screams and cries and comes for our rescue.

 Life application 2:
Calming the storms:
When we are in trouble, something dramatic happens.

Our eyes are opened to see the SEA WALKER. (V19)
Yes, today if we are troubled, let us pray that GOD will open our eyes to see the GOD of the oceans and seas, who have the authority to calm every storm and Gale surrounding us.

Now let me compare the similarity in psalms 107 and John 6:
Jesus calms them by soothing them not to be afraid. He calms their every hidden and inner turmoil with his words. (V20)

Dear Child of God, if you are in an inner turmoil, the word of God is coming to you. "Do not be afraid". He is able to calm every storm that raises against you.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psalm:107:29

But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
John:6:20

Once the inner peace sets in and we are completely quiet, he takes us fast to our desired place. Let us see these two verses below;

Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
John:6:21

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Psalm:107:30

Dear Child of God, Let me summarise how we are to deal with storms in life.
1. Identify the storm. - physical and emotional darkness with no Christ in the situation.
2. Cry out for help till heavens hear you.
3. Pray that your eyes are opened to see the SEA WALKER, The God who has the authority to calm your storms and change your situations.
4. Allow God's word to comfort you.
5. Receive Christ into your ship to deal with your situations.
6. Once you are calm and quiet and become glad about you will see your physical situations change quickly.

May Spirit of God enlighten your spirit to know more. Amen.

Levels of faith

Meditation John 6:1-15

1. Jesus went over the sea of Galilee and multitudes followed him for miracles. (V1,2)
2. Jesus went up the mountain with his disciples. The Jewish Passover feast was about to come ( V3,4)
3. Jesus looking at the big crowd of people and asked Philip, where they can buy food for all of them to eat. ( V5)
4. Jesus knew what he was about to do, but still asked of him to prove him. ( V6)
5. Philip answered that bread worth two hundred penny will not be enough for so many. (V7)
6. Simon Peter said there was a lad having five barley loaves and two small fishes but it is not sufficient for many. ( v8,9)
7. Jesus told the men to sit down on the grass and they were 5000. (V10)
8. Jesus took the bread and gave thanks and told the disciples to distribute.  They did the same with the fish too. (V11)
9. After they all ate Jesus told them to collect the remaining fragments(v12)
10. They collected 12 baskets with the fragments of the barley bread (v13)
11. The men who saw the miracles said he is a prophet who came into the world. (V14)
15. They intended to take Christ forcibly and make him a king. But he moved away(v15)

LIFE  APPLICATION:

1. Levels of Faith:
Let us see the three levels as portrayed in this meditation.

Level of faith 1:
Seeing impossibilities:

This is how Philip viewed the situation.
Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
John:6:7

Philip saw the situation with physical eyes.
Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
John:6:7

Zacharias saw his impossibility

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
Luke:1:18

Abraham saw his impossibility:
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
Genesis:17:17

Level of faith 2:
Simon Peter knew what he had.

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
John:6:8
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
John:6:9

Widow of zeraphath:
And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
1 Kings:17:12

Level of faith 3:
Knowing what God can do:
Jesus knew what he was about to do.
And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
John:6:11

Elijah knew what God can do

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
1 Kings:17:14

According to our faith let us obey and see miracles.
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Luke:5:5

Life APPLICATION 2:
Let us examine our lives if we are like the barley breads that we are able to feed the multitudes.
And when Gideon came, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
Judges:7:13

GOD compares Gideon to the barley bread.. that was baked on both sides. came rolling and hit the midianite camps..

God wants us to be like these breads made from the word of God and of the Holy Spirit that will crush the camps of the enemy.

Also the little we have let us give to Jesus... he will make it a blessing to many. Amen.
