Signs, wonders and Miracles. Meditation John chapter 2:18-25

1. The Jews then asked for signs for what Jesus did. (V18)
2. Jesus said if this temple is destroyed , he will raise it up in three days, referring to his own body. (V19,21,22)
3. But the Jews could not understand that moment as they were wondering how, as it took forty six years to build the temple. ( v20)
4. Many believed on Jesus seeking his miracles (v23)
5. Jesus never commited himself to any man... as he knew the very thoughts of men what they are. (V24,25)

Life Application:
1.Signs and wonders:
Signs and wonders are a great way God interacts with us. The WORD of GOD says

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Acts:2:19

Truely our God speaks with signs, wonders and miracles.
And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
Deuteronomy:6:22

To the heathens God demonstrates his power through signs and miracles.

But, if we are among those asking for signs out of unbelief as the saducees,
God cannot speak to us clear to our understanding. Then he speaks to us in parables.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
Matthew:16:4

Here I would like to give a cross reference, to explain (v 19, 21,22) better.
But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Matthew:12:39
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew:12:40

This is the same sign that CHRIST refers regarding destroying the temple.

Jesus puts the same sign in another way...in V19
He refers that the temple of God, that is, his own body will be destroyed and he will be in the heart of the earth day and night for three days and nights as was Jonas and he will be resurrected on the third day. He was prophesying about his own death, burial and  resurrection as a sign for the Jews.

2.What is the sign that is given for believers today?

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
1 Corinthians:14:22

The gift of prophesy is given as a sign for believers that we can tap into the mind of God. As the Holy Spirit is given to US in our hearts, God interacts with us through prophesies.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1 Corinthians:1:22

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1 Corinthians:1:23

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians:1:24

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation:19:10
Let us seek to testify about Christ more as this is the Spirit of prophesy.  A sign given to believers.

If we can believe, God will make us for signs and wonders as it is written in,
Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
Isaiah:8:18

Not only that, if we can believe God will do signs and wonders for his glory as the word of God says in,

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark:16:17

3. Our very thoughts and hearts are not hidden from God. That is why, Christ knew what was in a man and never commited himself to them. V25.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Psalm:103:14
Psalms 139:2

I completely agree to pas. Benny Hinn on this message of CHRIST as the temple of God. Kindly hear for more edification.

Dearly beloved,
Let us ponder on these words. Let God reveal to us more. Amen.
